This policy explains what personal information Elavo collects, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We follow the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.
What we collect
When you send us an enquiry through our website, we collect what you type into the form: your name, email address, phone number, the address of the job, your suburb and postcode, the service you are interested in, and your message.
When you call or email us, we keep your contact details and what you tell us about the job.
When you visit the website, Google Analytics records how the site is used: the pages viewed, the type of device and browser, the general area you are in (city level, not your address), and how you found the site. This does not tell us who you are.
Why we collect it
We use your details to:

book and carry out the job, and contact you about it

send invoices and keep the business records the law requires
We use the website information to see which pages are useful and to improve the site.
We do not sell your information, and we do not add you to a mailing list.
Who else sees it
We share your information only with the services we use to run the business:

Wix, which hosts this website and stores the enquiries sent through it

Google, which provides Google Analytics

Microsoft, which provides our email

ServiceM8, the software we use to manage quotes and jobs
Some of these services store information on servers outside New Zealand. We use well-known providers that protect information to a standard comparable to New Zealand law.
We will only pass your information to anyone else if you agree or the law requires it.
Cookies
The website uses cookies, small files saved by your browser. Wix uses them to make the site work, and Google Analytics uses them to count visits. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry and job details for as long as we need them to do the work and to keep business records, which New Zealand law requires for seven years. After that, we delete them.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it. Contact us using the details below and we will reply within 20 working days.
If you are not happy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
