The sooner the water comes out, the better
Wet carpet gets harder to save the longer it sits. The water spreads into the underlay and the floor underneath, and after a few days it starts to smell.
Our machines have strong vacuums that pull water out of the carpet and underlay. Once the water is out, we clean the carpet so it is fresh as well as dry, though we can’t make it look new again.
Some carpet can't be saved, for example after dirty floodwater or when it has been wet for too long. We tell you what we find on the day, so you can decide what to do next.

Flooded carpet questions
What should I do if my carpet gets flooded?
Stop the water if it is safe, then call us. For a burst pipe, turn the water off at the toby or the mains. Keep clear of power points and appliances in wet areas, and lift furniture, and anything that could leave a stain, off the wet carpet.
Can flooded carpet be saved?
Often, if the water is clean and it comes out quickly. It depends on what the water was, how long the carpet has been wet, and the type of carpet and underlay. We tell you what we find.

How long does wet carpet take to dry?
It depends on how much water there was, the underlay and the weather. Keep the room aired, with windows open or a heat pump running.
